Introduction to Sultan Bahoo (RA)

The Most Influential and Pluralist Sufi Saint, Poet & Philosopher of the Sub-Continent

Hazrat Sultan Bahoo (1629-1691) is the most influential and pluralist Sufi Saint, Poet and Philosopher of the Sub-Continent.

He chose Punjabi and Persian as his medium of expression. His abyat have become a household recital in Punjab. He travelled far and wide to guide the people on order of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW). His poetry and deputies helped in dissemination of his message globally.

Currently more than 100 vibrant Sufi centers have been working in Pakistan and abroad based on his teachings and principles. He initiated a new Sufi order named "Sarwari Qadri".

University of Art and Culture, Jamshoro realized the long-felt need of a research platform to work on the life, times and teachings of Sultan Bahoo (RA).

Sultan Bahoo Chair has been established to collect, preserve, promote and disseminate the books, manuscripts, audios, videos and lectures about Sultan Bahoo as well as guide and help the research scholars in their theses about Sultan Bahoo and Sufism.
